Welcome back, Rotaractors! We hope everyone had a fun winter break. Thanks to everyone that came out to our Winter Kickoff, it was great seeing new and familiar faces!Pay and Pick Up Rotaract Sweatshirts: The cost is $25. We accept cash, check, and venmo. We will be handing them out at the meeting on the 26th, here in Wellman 6!

Basketball Game with Rotary, 7:30 PM (Tipoff), Pavilion at UC Davis

Join Sunrise Rotary members this Thursday at the Men’s Basketball game. Students get in free of course! If you are interested in attending with us, please email [email protected].FRIDAY, 1/15

Start off your quarter with service! We will be continuing to sew bibs and caps for our Baby Packs! This time, we’re also teaming up with people from APhiO, so come out and meet new peeps!

SATURDAY, 1/16-MONDAY, 1/18
Winter Retreat, 8AM (1/16)-3PM (1/18), South Lake Tahoe
Winter Retreat is this upcoming weekend! For all those signed up already, be prepared for a weekend filled with games, snow activities, and fun! Don’t worry if you haven’t signed up yet, the deadline to sign up is tonight at 11:59 PM. It is $65. We accept cash, check or Venmo (@CampusRotaractClub).

FRIDAY, 1/22
Code Red: CRC Davis Division, 4PM-7PM, UCD Campus/Downtown Davis
All of you have been invited to go on a mission. The objectives are clear. World War 3 is about to begin and you all are deciding factors of whether that will happen. Two teams: One team trying to pick up some intel and drop it off at a location to start a war, and the other team trying to prevent that intel from ever reaching its destination. Project Linus, 1PM – 3PM, Location TBA
Let’s give our warmth by putting together blankets! Project Linus is an organization that donates blankets to toddlers that need an extra comfort and warmth.
TUESDAY, 1/26
Blaze Fundraiser, 6PM-9PM, Blaze Pizza (F Street)
Come eat pizza with us after the meeting on the 26th! Show them a flyer and we get 20% of the proceeds!SATURDAY, 2/6

This is Noon Rotary’s charity dinner to raise funds for the Child Abuse Prevention Program in Yolo County!
Finance Meeting (Biweekly): Wednesday, 6-7PM, CoHo

Want to see what it’s like to be a Director of Finance for CRC Davis? Well here’s your chance to get more involved with the club by working side by side with this year’s finance directors. Our first meeting is this Wednesday, January 13.

Service Meeting (Biweekly): Thursdays, 4-5PM, CoHo
Interested in coming up with new service projects for the year? Want to make an impact on your community and forge connections with other Rotaract and Rotary clubs? Join the service committee at this week’s meeting! Our first meeting is this Thursday, January 14.
Start off the quarter right: make a schedule, stick to the schedule, reward yourself, and focus on time management.
Be a PAID MEMBER or BUY A SHIRT! Find a Finance director (Stephanie or Kaylee) at the meeting to pay.  Shirts are $15and membership is $20 for one whole year!This year’s shirt! What screams “Davis” more than a squirrel on a bike?

How the point system works for membership: You get one point for every event you go to, and an additional point for every hour of service completed. So if you attend an event at the Mondavi Center, you receive 1 point. Working there for four hours means an additional 4 points for a total of 5 points!

Join a COMMITTEE! Learn about the ins and outs of a directorship (or all six) and work closely with the director(s).  You will be able to gain experience, offer suggestions, and even run your own events. Sign up HERE and we will contact you!


Join a FAMILY! We’ll put you in a family with other members and you will get to know everyone better, go to events together, and try to get more points than other families! Sign up HERE.


WEEKLY SELFIE CHALLENGE:Take a selfie with whatever/whoever we choose that week and post it on the Facebook group or Instagram. Remember to tag us on Instagram @davisrotaract so we see it! Winners will be chosen weekly and will win a prize! Winners must be present at the meeting to receive the prize.
