Rotary Japan Relief fund – at General Meetings
Come and donate $2 to receive a bracelet that will go towards helping those affected by the Japan earthquake. Find an officer or donate at a general meeting. 100% of donations will go to the Rotary Japan Relief Fund.
District Retreat: Rotaract Into Space – Friday, April 22nd [6-10PM] @ UC Berkeley (meeting at the tennis courts at 4:30PM
There will be presentations and discussions about service ideas. But the main focus is NETWORKING. There will be an “Amazing Race.” Dinner will be served to those who register in advance at: http://www.rotaract5160.org/?p=324. The cost is $5 to cover food and materials. Please indicate of you need a ride or if you can drive.

Time Off for Caregivers – Saturday, April 23rd [9:40AM-3:15PM] @ Davis Senior Center (646 A St; Corner of 7th and A St.)
Come hang out with seniors, play bingo, hear stories about their lives, with a few words of wisdom. This is a great opportunity to really connect and make a difference. Light morning refreshments and lunch will be provided.
SADVC Grand Opening – Friday, April 29th [3:30-5:30PM; 5:30-7:30PM; 6:30-8:30PM] @ 175 Walnut St., Woodland, CA
Come help the grand opening of the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center. Help set up, prepare finger foods, direct guests, and clean up/break down equipment. April is Sexual Assault Awareness month. According to the National Violence Against Women Survey, 1 in 6 American women has been the victim of rape or attempted rape. SADVC’s mission is to eliminate sexual assault and domestic violence through sensitive prevention, intervention and treatment.
MS Walk – Sunday, May 1st [7-9:30AM] @ Sacramento (Capital)
Help register and cheer for the walkers at the Sacramento MS Walk. It’s an early morning, but the electric atmosphere (and coffee) will wake you up when we get on site. You also get a free t-shirt! We will organize rides.

Behavioral Neuroendocrinology Lab @ UC Davis campus
The Trainor Lab, Department of Psychology, is looking at effects of hormones on aggressive behavior, sex differences in effects of stress on behaviors related to depression and anxiety, and effects of stress on a mouse model of breast cancer. What is this? Career Speed Dating? Yes indeed. Come down to freeborn and experience the perks of speed dating go towards your future career choice! Sit down and listen for 5-10 minutes as a representative talks to you about their profession. Then spend a few minutes interrogating them about their job! Once the bell chimes move on to the next host, no awkward goodbyes necessary.
