Yo! 10.27.09 Update!

        – Interact Committee! 10/29/2009, 6:00 PM @ Woodstocks Pizza (G & 2nd Street)

                Be part of starting up a brand new community-based Interact club! Work with local Rotarians to give high school students the opportunity to be part of the Rotary Family.


Richard King Guest Speaking 11/03/2009, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Woodland

         THERE WILL BE NO MEETING ON 11/03/2009 because the club will be going to Woodland and listen to a former Rotary International President speak! Rides will be provided.


Families! –(Members will be informed of what families they will be placed in shortly.)

Fall Festival Set Up – Friday, 10/30/2009, 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM @ Central Park

        Help is needed to inflate 300 helium balloons before the festival to be held on Saturday. There will be three shifts: 8-10AM, 10-12PM, 12-2PM.


Smoke Alarm Battery Change WITH ROTARY! Saturday, 10/30/2009, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM or 12:00 PM @ Davis Senior Center Parking Lot, 646 A Street

        The Rotary Club of Davis (Noon) invited us to help change the batteries in the smoke alarms of homes of disabled and elderly people, in accordance with their district project. Come see firsthand what Rotary does!


Fall Festival – Saturday, 10/31/2009, 7:00 AM – 1:30 PM @ Central Park

        We will be volunteering at two booths. Shifts are from 7-10:30AM & 10:30-1:30PM. Four people are needed for both shifts. First shift is helping sell pies and the second shift is helping kids with a leaf art activity.


Freakin’ Awesome Fridays!!! – Fridays, 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

        Fridays dedicated to doing some hands on service! This quarter’s Freakin’ Awesome Fridays are dedicated to helping out Operation Christmas Child!


Operation Christmas Child Committee Meetings – Tuesdays, 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM, Griffin Lounge @ the MU

        Does this sound cool? You bet it does! Get directly involved in organizing our participation with Operation Christmas Child. **Leadership opportunity**

Mondavi Center Fundraiser – Wednesday, 11/4/2009 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM @ Mondavi Center

        Concessions event at the Mondavi Center. 10 people needed, some must be 21 and over. DRESS CODE! 


Every volunteer must follow thedress code. Please make sure that all members of your organization receive a copy of this dress code so they know what is expected.
Men and Women – Black 
dress slacks (no jeans, no skirts, no Capri pants, no shorts). 
Men and Women – Black FLAT closed to
e shoes and black socks (no high heels, no flip-flops and no sandals). All Black tennis shoes are okay to wear. 
Men and Women – Plain White Oxford shirt. This shirt must have a collar to support a tie and must have long sleeves that button at the cuff  (The following shirts are unacceptable: grey shirts, polo type shirts, sweaters, t-shirts, shirts without a collar and button cuffs, belly shirts, and shirts with ¾ length sleeves). This shirt must be clean and PRESSED and tucked in at all times. 
All visible piercings must be removed. This includes tongue piercings. Stud earrings are okay (no long dangling earrings, no multiple rings or bracelets). 
Long hair must be tied back. 
No perfume or aftershave or scented hand cream should be worn. If perfume or scent is detected, you will be asked to wash it off.
        Please be aware that this dress code is very strict. If you plan on attending, please follow the dress code as best as you can.

China Lunch Fundraiser – Friday, 11/6/2009 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM @ ARC Ballroom

        Serving food. You get a GREAT free lunch out of it as well! DRESS CODE! I will put up the dress code for this event later but it is generally the same dress code as above.
Free Car Wash! Saturday, 11/7/2009 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM @ SaveMart West Parking Lot (Anderson & Covell)
        Help our club raise money so we can keep putting on amazing events for you guys! Bring your cars – cars are washed on a donation basis!

Dollar Scoop Tuesdays & Movie Night – Tuesday, 11/10/2009 & 11/17/2009, 7:00 PM – whenever @ Baskin Robbins & Regal 6 Theater
        Come join us after the meeting to hang out and talk. Enjoy some delicious ice cream and watch a $5 movie!
Jelly Belly Factory Tour – Sunday, 11/8/2009 9:00 AM – whenever @ Fairfield Jelly Belly Factory
        Join us on a free tour of the World Famous Jelly Belly Factory!! Buy some belly flops and see how these tiny yet delicious treats are made. Rides are provided.

        Come learn more about future events, service opportunities, and other exciting things coming up! Watch for a possible guest speaker, info on families, committees, and other fun stuff! (Again, we will not be having a meeting on the 3rd because of the Richard King Speaking Trip.)
Hangout! – Every weekday, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM @ MU Quad Tables
        Weather permitting, we’ll be out there every day just hanging out! Swing on by if you’re lonely during lunch or just have some extra time between classes! Sometimes we will be in Griffin Lounge if the weather is bad.
