Freakin’ Awesome Friday (FAF)
Friday, November 15, 2013, 4PM – 6PM,
Come help us sew baby bibs for our annual project, “Baby Packs!” ,
Baby Packs is a project in which the Rotaract club hand sew baby hats and bibs and send them in packs filled with baby bottles, multivitamins, medicine, and other necessities to mothers in Jaragua, Brazil who do not have the resources to obtain them. We will be in the Smith Room at the MU.
Arboretum Work Day 
Saturday, November 16, 2013, 9:00AM – 12PM
Please come prepared to plant and mulch! You will want to bring some water and wear casual clothing and shoes that you won’t mind getting a little dirty. We’ll provide the plants, the plan, and the know-how. We have gloves and shovels to share, but if you have your own, please bring those as well.
Girl Scouts and Science
Sunday, November 17, 2013, 8:15AM – 12:30PM
We’re doing a fun Girl Scout event on November 17th where girls will earn their Home Scientist badge.The stations will be hands-on science like making ice cream in a bag, making slime, experimenting with static electricity, experimenting with mentos and soda, and making gigantic bubbles. (If you need a ride, please meet at the MU Tennis Courts at 8 am.)

Mondavi: Andrew Bird
Thursday, November 14, 2013, 5PM – 9PM
Back by popular demand. Rotaract will be volunteering at Andrew Bird’s concert. Another formal event where we ask our volunteers to come dressed up! White button up, black slacks, and closed toe shoes. We need 12 volunteers, half of which who are 21+ to serve wine to guests. We will be at the cashiers, selling snacks and wine.
Bake Sale! Peppermint Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
Tuesday and Wednesday, November 26&27, 2013
Treat yourself to a holiday snack after those rough sleepless nights of homework and midterms! Drop by the MU and snatch a batch of our delicious homemade peppermint chocolate covered strawberries. All the proceeds will be used to support us in our effort to fundraise for our international project: The Tinogona Foundation.
Christmas Grams

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Broke? No time to buy gifts? Get into the giving mood and send that special someone in Rotaract a Christmas gram! We will be selling handmade grams that can be sent to anyone in the club. These grams will be distributed on our last meeting (Dec. 3) before winter break! Give that special someone, friend or Mentor/Mentee a little surprise during our final meeting.

Jelly Belly Factory Tour

Join us for our annual Jelly Belly Factory Tour! We’ll get to see the factory floor and enjoy yummy jelly bellies! The tour is also free! 😀 As always, rides will be provided. And if you’re willing to drive people, please let us know!

Need help with your resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn, or Aggie Job Link? Then come join us for dinner while we help you with all of that and more! Whether you need help getting started, or have something you want reviewed, all are welcome. Food will be provided, but other food contributions are always appreciated! Rides will also be provided.
Interview Workshop
Tuesday, Nov. 19, 7-9PM (after General Meeting) OR Friday, Nov. 22, 7-9PM (after FAF)
Come join us for an interactive interview workshop! This workshop is intended to help you learn about basic interview techniques. Additionally, this workshop will get you thinking about and practicing how to answer both basic and difficult questions asked during interviews. We will go over different types of interviews and focus on different career fields as well!
Professional Tip of the Week
Transcript Notation (TN): Transcript notation is offered to students who participate in a campus approved internship. The requirements include working a minimum of 40 hours a quarter and possibly a final report. All you need to do is fill out the required paperwork, and the internship title, location, and quarter will appear on your official UC Davis transcript. The documented extracurricular activities help you stand out as a candidate to graduate schools and employers, and serves as evidence that the experiences on your resume are legitimate.
